Can I take Hormonious while taking birth control pills?

Hormonious (unlike many other hormone-balancing supplements) doesn’t include any ingredients that are proven to interfere with birth control pills. Hormonious does include maca and cordyceps, both of which may have phytoestrogenic activity within the body. Some people suggest that maca shouldn’t be used when taking birth control pills because of the potential estrogenic effects. However, there haven’t been any studies suggesting that maca shouldn’t be taken when using oral contraceptives, and studies of phytoestrogens have in general shown that they are safe to use while taking birth control pills. While we have a lot of customers who like to take Hormonious alongside their current birth control routine, we always like to defer to your healthcare provider first since we’re unsure of the course you’re currently on. They’ll have the best answer for you!

Is Hormonious safe to take during pregnancy or nursing?

We do not recommend taking Hormonious during pregnancy. Some of the ingredients like ashwagandha may be harmful if taken during pregnancy.**

**If you're breastfeeding, please speak with your doctor before taking Hormonious. Ashwagandha and holy basil may increase lactation.
